About Nancy

Nancy Niss was born in Lafayette, Indiana in 1950, to a microbiologist father from Wisconsin and a lovely Texas Belle and with an insatiable appetite for reading. From then on her life took many different turns - from a profession as a successful Master Tailor and Designer for 43 years, artist - furniture building, painting and drawing, building and remodeling, office manager, typist and mother of three.

From having lived in Brasil, South America for some years, she became a professional Portuguese translator and interpreter - being interviewed on Brasilian TV along with a talk in Portuguese before the São Paulo Pediatric Society.

Loving anything and everything that allows her creativity to flower, and because of her intense love of words and language, she is now a writer. Words have color, shape, texture, fragrance, light and dark, weight and personality that give our lives a delicious and sensual bed upon which to create and live our lives.

Let us learn to use them beautifully and with integrity so that we may live in harmony in this world and with each other.
